The Supervisory Board of the German Agency for Breakthrough Innovation appointed Dr.-Ing. E. h. Peter Leibinger as Chair of the Supervisory Board and Prof. Dr. Birgitta Wolff as his deputy. The Supervisory Board consists of up to ten personalities. They represent the German federal government as a 100% shareholder and bring expertise from science and business to this deliberative body.

Peter Leibinger is Shareholder of TRUMPF SE + Co KG and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Leibinger SE: The goal is to strengthen collaboration between basic research, applied science and innovative companies in Germany. We can make the best of our country’s potential if our research also leads to marketable products, new jobs and a competitive edge international in the industries of tomorrow. The German Agency for Breakthrough Innovation can make an effective contribution to this.

After her selection as Deputy Chair of the Supervisory Board Prof. Dr. Birgitta Wolff remarked: We devote more than three percent of our gross national product to research and development, making us the leader in Europe. With SPRIND, we want to build a dependable bridge from science to business – to create a meeting place for our country’s outstanding minds, people who not only think in terms of the future but who also want to help shape the future, as scientists and entrepreneurs.
