We, the FabuLens GmbH, are a subsidiary of the Federal Agency for Disruptive Innovations (SPRIND). SPRIND aims to create new disruptive innovations in Germany. This particularly means products, services, and systems that noticeably and sustainably improve all our lives. To achieve this, SPRIND brings together innovative thinkers from science and business, people with outstanding ideas, special expertise, and passion.
FabuLens aims to revolutionize the high-volume production of small polymer lenses, for example for smartphone camera modules, combining the advantages of optical precision injection molding and so-called wafer-level optics (WLO), which is inspired by semiconductor production. The goal is to enable profitable production in Germany, while at the same time reducing energy and resource consumption and the associated reduction in CO2 emissions.
By joining FabuLens, you will be
- Responsibility for the planning, coordination, set-up and operation of the technical infrastructure, particularly the cleanroom workstations
- Support in the subject of CE certification of the equipment and systems to be developed
- Development and control of the safety concept of the machinery and equipment (emergency plan)
- Coordination of corresponding insurance aspects
How you convince us:
- Several years of experience in a similar position in a research-based company or a company involved in optics or electronics production is preferable
- Experience in the active implementation of large projects in a scientific/technical/innovative environment
- Analytical and conceptual thinking
- Professional training/HSA/FHSA (technical education) in facility management, cross-entry from engineering, industrial engineering or natural sciences, master craftsman from relevant skilled trades (refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, clean room technology)
- High affinity to scientific and technical issues
- Good teamwork and communication skills

The aim is to fill the position on a temporary basis until the end of the FabuLens GmbH project period (03/2028). Additional employment at the Innovator-GmbH, mcd - modern camera designs GmbH, Jena, is planned.
