  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team for holistic process and machine development from idea to pilot line production.
  • Conceptual design, construction, implementation, commissioning, testing and pilot-scale usage of novel systems and equipment for highly automated and parallelized manufacturing of miniaturized polymer optical components for high-volume markets
  • Focus on mechanical design & equipment automation (software/hardware)
  • Specification/documentation of requirements, implementation plans and results, interdisciplinary cooperation to achieve the optimal technology chain or overall process as well as with external suppliers and development partners

How you convince us:

  • Successfully completed technical or scientific university degree (PhD/MS/BS), e.g. in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, precision engineering, optical technologies, automation engineering, physics, physical engineering, materials science or equivalent.
  • Experience in the development and use of manufacturing, integration, and characterization solutions for optical components for high volume applications
  • Familiarity with optical, electrical, mechanical, and software aspects of device and system development, ideally for miniaturized optical components and their operations
  • Ideally, background in wafer-level optics, optical injection molding, and/or packaging and interconnect technology
  • Experience in managing suppliers and development partners
  • Strong communication skills with emphasis on specification writing, development planning, and analysis/reporting of results
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking
  • Enjoy working as part of a team and in an interface intensive role combined with an independent way of working
