In the “EUDI Wallet Infrastructure” project, which SPRIND is carrying out on behalf of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community (BMI), a concept for a German overall system for the implementation of the eIDAS 2.0 regulation including a digital wallet is being developed and tested. Representatives of organized civil society, business associations and administration as well as experts from science are involved in a public consultation process that accompanies the project. As a Senior Backend Developer you will be a important part in the Walled Product team realizing this project.

Your future tasks

  • Designing and developing the backend for the government provided EUdi wallet and its ecosystem.
  • Evaluating existing software components, implementing new secure, scalable, reliable components.
  • Writing concise product, process and technical documentation, supporting certification.
  • Joining developers and architects in an multidisciplinary team supported by experts from several government ministries and research organizations.

How you convince us:

  • 10+ years of development experience, 3+ years of Kotlin, with a focus on developing reliable, scalable, and secure REST API’s.
  • Deep understanding and application of modern symmetric and asymmetric cryptography standards and operations.
  • Strong knowledge of relational database schema design and SQL query optimization for performance and scalability.
  • Enjoy working on open source projects and interacting with the community.
  • Ability to deliver value in a high-stakes, regulated, politically sensitive environment.
  • Proactive and responsible team player who drives topics forward, shares knowledge, and communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Comfortable transitioning between documentation, design, hands-on coding, and code review.
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication
  • Being able to work in an agile driven development with waterfall components.

Nice to have experience:

  • Identity / OAuth / OpenID / SSI
  • Hardware Security Modules (HSM)
  • Mobile device attestation, including play Integrity and iOS DeviceCheck
  • DevOps / CI/CD automation / operational experience
  • German
  • Sharing delicious food recipes
