MADE IN GERMANY AWARDS

Together with Jacob Beautemps and the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space, we are looking for the brightest minds and most innovative ideas in Germany

Put an end to the crisis mood and raise the curtain on the inventive spirit:

The Made in Germany Awards break with the narrative of economic regression and put the spotlight on the real future makers.

Initiated by science creator Dr. Jacob Beautemps and supported by SPRIND and the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR), this award is more than a classic science prize – it is a cross-media showcase for Germany’s technological excellence.

We are looking for projects that have already left the laboratory stage and promise a real impact in the following five categories:

ENERGY SOCIETY ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE MEDICINE MOBILITY

A jury of experts from SPRIND and BMFTR will review the submissions and nominate the three best innovations in each category. These finalists will be presented on the Breaking Lab YouTube channel. Thanks to the cooperation with major content creators in Germany, a cumulative reach of over 34 million followers will be activated. Viewers will then vote for the winners themselves. The technological prerequisite: The innovation must have a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of at least 4 – purely theoretical concepts are excluded, a functioning prototype or laboratory-scale test setup is mandatory.

The award ceremony, which will take place at the Futurium in Berlin on November 23, 2026, will be streamed live on Breaking Lab and accompanied by numerous other science creators across all platforms.

In addition to media visibility and exclusive networking at the show in Berlin, the participating teams may also receive funding from SPRIND – provided the SPRIND jury members also see potential for a breakthrough innovation in the selected projects.

As there is a prospect of funding from SPRIND, all projects and teams that have already been funded or are currently being funded by SPRIND are excluded from participation.

Germany is incredibly innovative. We’re just not as adept at showing it. I want to change that!
